Africa Harvest takes a needs-driven, holistic approach. We have a strong African focus.Our projects focus on the following key aspects:

• The whole value chain approach: An implementation package that empowers the community and ensures linkage of all components of the supply chain, from provision of planting materials and training in improved agronomic practices to post harvest handling, packaging, processing and marketing.

• Scaling up the impact of successful model projects: For example, in addition to Kenya, the TC banana project has potential for positive impact in other East African countries

• Communication and public acceptance, which are essential to create an enabling environment for product of biotechnology

• Capacity building of African people and facilities to create long term and sustainable impact

• Partnerships and networks with like-minded organizations

• Supporting biosafety and development of regulatory policies which are currently major bottlenecks to the expansion and positive impact of biotechnology.

• Nurturing the development of entrepreneurial ventures that include processing and other value-addition activities
